We’ve known for a while that 20th Century Fox was testing various actresses to play young psychic Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse, but Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones) had only just entered the (casting) game before she officially nabbed the part. And she’s not the only new cast member! Bryan Singer took to Twitter to lay out the teen X-Men we’ll be seeing next summer, including Cyclops and Storm.
Meet our new and brilliant young mutants: @Alexshipppp as #Storm @SophieT as #JeanGrey and @TyeSheridan as #Cyclops. #XmenApocalypse

Tye Sheridan’s breakout role was in Terrence Malick’s trippy family drama The Tree of Life; he’ll also be appearing in the adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s Dark Places, as well as Scouts vs. Zombies. Alexandra Shipp is best known for playing the late singer Aaliyah in a Lifetime movie last year.
Shortly after Singer tweeted the news, Turner posted this simple but thrilled tweet:
OMG

It’s exciting to see Turner take on a new role, especially now that Sansa is stepping up on Game of Thrones. (Could a killing spree be in her future?) Last we had heard, Turner was planning to play Mary Shelley in one of two competing biopics, but from the sound of it, Apocalypse will come first.
X-Men: Apocalypse comes to theaters May 27, 2016.
